Self-Locking C Type Quick Couplers

The self-locking socket design provides an additional connection option for workshops, production equipment and compressed-air systems. Instead of using the same rear connection on every component, the series offers threaded, hose-barb and tube-fitting structures. This helps reduce the need for extra adapters and keeps the piping arrangement compact.

Socket Configurations

ZSM is a self-locking socket with a male threaded connection. It can be installed in a compatible female threaded port on pneumatic equipment, valves, manifolds or air preparation components.

ZSF uses a female threaded connection. Its hexagonal rear body can be matched with an external threaded pipe or fitting. The flat surfaces also provide a suitable area for applying a wrench during installation.

ZSH has a stepped hose-barb connection. It is intended for a compatible pneumatic hose and provides a direct alternative where a threaded connection is not required.

ZSP uses a compact tube or nut-fitting connection. This configuration is useful when the air line needs to be connected directly to the socket without adding a separate threaded adapter.

Matching Plug Configurations

ZPM is the corresponding male threaded plug. It can be fitted directly into a female threaded port on a tool or pneumatic component.

ZPF is a female threaded plug with a hexagonal body. It is suitable for equipment that already has an external threaded connection.

ZPH has a stepped hose-barb tail for a direct hose connection. The hose should be fully seated and secured using an appropriate fastening method when required.

ZPP provides a compact tube or nut-fitting connection. Its short body can help reduce the space needed around the connection point.

Model Selection

The catalog identifies ZSM, ZSF, ZSH and ZSP as the four self-locking socket configurations. ZPM, ZPF, ZPH and ZPP provide the corresponding plug-side arrangements.

The source catalog does not print individual size tables for these eight models. Before ordering, confirm the required thread standard, thread size, tube dimensions or hose dimensions. The mating socket and plug must also use a compatible C type connection profile.

Typical Applications

These self-locking couplers can be used on pneumatic machinery, assembly stations, workshop air tools, testing equipment and general factory compressed-air lines. The range is particularly useful when equipment is changed or disconnected regularly but the installed connection still needs to remain compact.

Threaded versions are suitable for fixed ports on equipment and air preparation components. Hose and tube versions provide more flexibility for portable tools, maintenance lines and installations where rigid piping is not practical.

Benefits & Features

Operating Conditions and Installation

The couplers are intended for clean compressed air. The listed working pressure range is 0-0.9 MPa, with a proof pressure of 1.32 MPa. The recommended ambient and fluid temperature range is 0-60 C.

Suitability should be checked separately when the couplers are used with liquids, aggressive media, unusually high temperatures or operating pressures outside the catalog range.

Installation

Before installation, remove dust, metal particles and old sealing material from the connection area. Threaded models should be tightened using the hexagonal section of the body. Do not apply tightening force to the socket sleeve or plug connection surface.

When sealing tape or liquid thread sealant is used, prevent excess material from entering the airflow passage. Loose fragments may restrict airflow or interfere with the connection mechanism.

Make sure the air supply is released before installing, disconnecting or servicing the coupling. Insert the mating plug fully into the socket, then make a light pull check before supplying compressed air.

Inspection and Maintenance

Inspect the socket, plug and connected hose regularly. Replace components that show excessive wear, deformation, corrosion or damage around the sealing surface.

For hose-connected models, check for cracking, hardening or movement around the hose barb. Threaded joints should also be checked for leakage after installation.

Keeping the connection area clean can help reduce wear and prevent dirt from entering the pneumatic circuit. When a coupling is left disconnected, a suitable protective cap can be used where contamination is a concern.
