C-Type Self-Locking Pneumatic Quick Coupling

Air tools are often moved between different work areas. A quick coupling makes this easier by joining the air line through a socket and matching plug. Pulling back the sleeve releases the connection when the tool or hose needs to be changed.

The fitting shown here is offered with several connection ends. A threaded version can be fitted to a compressor outlet, valve or air tool. The barbed version is intended for flexible hose and should be secured with a suitable hose clamp.

Socket and Plug

A complete connection requires a compatible socket and plug. The plug slides into the socket and is held by the locking mechanism inside the sleeve. Similar couplings may look alike but still use different plug profiles, so the series and nominal size should be checked before purchase.

Using the Coupling

Before making a connection, inspect the plug for dirt or damage. Insert it straight into the socket and check that it is properly locked.

Do not disconnect a pressurized hose without controlling the hose end. Shut off the air supply where required, hold the hose firmly and operate the release sleeve carefully.
