AS Series Elbow Speed Controller with One-Touch Fitting

Cylinder speed often needs a small adjustment after a machine has been assembled. Installing this controller directly on the cylinder port keeps that adjustment close to the actuator and avoids adding a separate valve farther along the air line.

The threaded end connects to the cylinder or valve port. Pneumatic tubing is pushed into the side fitting, while the knob at the top changes the airflow. Turning the knob gradually makes it easier to find a suitable cylinder speed. The lock nut can then be tightened to help retain the setting.

Meter-In and Meter-Out

AS Series speed controllers may be supplied in meter-in or meter-out versions. A meter-in model restricts air entering the cylinder. A meter-out model controls the exhaust flow leaving it. The correct version depends on the circuit and the way the cylinder load moves.

Installation

Match both the tube outside diameter and thread size before ordering. Cut the tube square and insert it completely into the fitting.

Use a wrench on the metal section when tightening the threaded end. Do not use the plastic body or adjustment knob as a tightening handle. Start the machine at a low speed, turn the knob in small steps, and check the cylinder movement after each adjustment.
