Pneumatic machines sometimes use a large tube for the main air line and a smaller tube near a valve or actuator. The PG reducer joins these two tubes directly. It has no pipe thread and does not need an extra adapter.
Both ends work in the same way. Push the tube into the release ring until it stops. The two openings are different sizes, so check which tube belongs at each end before fitting them.
The model number usually shows the tube sizes. PG8-6, for example, is intended for an 8 mm tube on one side and a 6 mm tube on the other. Other size combinations are available for different air-line layouts.
Use a tube cutter to make a clean, straight cut. An angled or damaged end may not seal correctly. Insert the tube fully and pull it back gently to make sure it is secure.
Before removing either tube, turn off the air and release pressure from the line. Hold down the release ring while pulling the tube straight out.
The PG reducer is often found inside control cabinets and on packaging, assembly or textile machines. Its straight shape is helpful when the air line needs to continue in the same direction while changing to a different tube diameter.
